Working at the intersection of art, wayfinding, and mapping, the process of navigating an unknown future is an inspiration for Michael Lewis and Bellwether Design. Works are intended to share layered social, cultural, and ecological narratives as found through the experience of wayfaring and exploring a dynamic shifting landscape. From installation projects in partnership with Finding Our Way to the Future and the Waterlines Project Map, to the Filaments installation and the Earthworks Tour, Michael has consistently explored environmental perception and navigation. Each project is driven by a desire to trace where we have been, embody where we are now, and to walk forward prepared to leave the road.
